Interview with Dr. Tom Stebbins

I'm sure you'll remember the hoop-la over all that happened to Dr. Tom Stebbins over the past few weeks.  How is got a Visa to Vietnam, traveled all the way there, and then was not permitted to enter?  Amazing story, really.

The trip to Vietnam ended up being a great blessing.  But in the midst of the blessing, there was still a sadness on my part.  I had always dreamed of going to Vietnam.  It's just that, in my dream, I went there with Tom.  Unfortunately, that did not happen.  Maybe someday.  But not yet.

In the weeks prior to going, I had the chance to interview Tom.  I just had the chance to finish editing it today and will put it up here:

I know you're enjoy it.  Tom is a great servant of the Lord.  A humble man, filled with God's grace.  It's a joy to be around him.

Have a great Labor Day weekend!  And may the Lord be with you.

Yours in His service,

John

Vietnam

I've just returned from a week in Vietnam.  It was a wonderful experience where I was privileged to see the Hand of the Lord at work.  While there, I interviewed Rev. Tom Mangham, EE's Vice President for EE in Asia.  We asked some of the folks involved with EE about their experience there.  I've edited that into an edition of Multiply, which you'll find here:

Please join me in praising the Lord for the miraculous effects of the ministry in Vietnam.

God bless you and have a great weekend.

Yours in His service,

John

Amazing News Article

Well, I'm on my way back from a whirlwind, three-week trip around the globe.  Literally.

I'm in the Hong Kong airport waiting on my flight home.  I've recorded several interviews which I plan to post within the next week.  One from Vietnam which I know you will not want to miss.

While looking at the news today I came across something that I really can't believe would ever be reported.  After just spending some time in the Middle East, I understand how impossible this news story really is.  It is nothing short of absolutely amazing.  I am thrilled at what God is doing in the Middle East right now, and believe that it points to an upcoming awakening.

Check it out.  And, "way to go Fox News!"

Interview with the Archbishop Harry Goodhew

I've spent the past week in Australia working with the Rev. Rod Story and Dr. Ron Tyler.  Both are Senior Vice Presidents with the global ministry of Evangelism Explosion.  We had good meetings as we planned the ministry (as God makes us able!) for the coming months.

Rod is on his way to the middle east.  Ron and I are in Manila today to meet with Dr. Rene Atienza.  Tonight, by God's grace, we fly to Malaysia.  I hope to do an interview with Rene to put up later today.

While in Australia, one of my favorite things to do is spend time with the Archbishop Harry Goodhew.  He, out of the kindness of his heart and a desire to serve the Lord, mentors me.  We spent last Friday together and I conducted an interview.  I've included is here:

I hope you enjoy it.  And have a great day in Christ!

Yours in His service,

John

Update

Dear staff, partners, and friends,

An update on Tom Stebbins:  Tom has been released but forced to leave the country.  He has returned home and is safe back in the United States.  Needless to say, this was a very difficult ordeal for Tom and the whole team.  While Tom was granted an official Visa for entry into Vietnam, the government did not honor it.

Please pray for the events of the coming weeks.  Many things were scheduled for Tom and now we must continue without him (frankly that is hard to imagine).

I covet your prayers...

Tom Stebbins

Please be in prayer for Tom Stebbins.  He arrived in Vietnam last night and was detained by the authorities.  We have received no additional news regarding his safety, but will continue to pray that he will be released today.

He had been granted a Visa for entry by the government, so it doesn't make sense that they would detain him.  But, as is often the case, when power plays are allowed to enter into the public arena, sense is not something that you encounter.

Please pray for the leaders there.  And pray that Tom will remain healthy through the ordeal.

Your in His service,

John
